A Rainy Day
Category: Creation

Gracious and loving God. Thank you for the rain.

As the raindrops run down the window,

gathering pace as they join with others,

reminding us that you give us water to drink and grow our crops.

As the raindrops run down the window,

each raindrop merges with its neighbour to form larger droplets

that gather pace and splash to the ground,

they remind us that we are made stronger when we join with others

in your community of love.

As the raindrops run down the window,

each one rounded and magnifying the daylight and of different dimension,

they remind us that we are all made in your image yet each one unique.

As the raindrops run down the window,

each droplet has the potential to quench the thirst of plant,

animal or human being,

of becoming part of a stream, river, lake and sea,

though we feel small and insignificant,

we are part of your body which reaches out to the world

to bring the living water of faith to a thirsty and needy world.

As the raindrops run down the window,

the pull of gravity draws the each droplet to the earth,

they remind us that we too will one day

be drawn to the earth when we are laid to rest,

each on different, yet the same,

your child of potential fulfilling the purpose of your love.

Thank you Lord, for the raindrops on the window

revealing your love to the world.
